About Board of Technical Education (BTE), Uttar Pradesh
The Uttar Pradesh Board of Technical Education (UPBTE or BTEUP) provides technical education to students after completing their Junior Engineer (JE) course in UP, India. It was established in 1958 as “State Board of Technical Education & Training” which was later changed to “Board of Technical Education”. UPBTE head office is located in Lucknow, UP, India. The course is a three-year programme, also called the three-year diploma.
BTEUP is mostly affiliated with government colleges as well as few private colleges. The Board has a Chairman and Vice-Chairman along with 40 members nominated by the State Govt. Its function is to prescribe Educational Qualifications & other Standards for the members of staff as well as Educational Qualifications for Admission of students to affiliated institutions.
The Board has approved syllabus developed by IRDT, Kanpur and prescribe it for institutions affiliated to Board of Technical Education, U.P. At present, there are approximately 38,000 students examined in the 52 different disciplines of 01 Year, 02 Year, 03 Year and 04 Year duration in the Institutions affiliated to the Board.
