GSEB also known as Gujarat Secondary & Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHEB) is a Government of Gujarat Body formed on 01st of May 1960. The main responsibility of the Board include academics, conducting examination and research and development. It is a very popular board in the Gujarat State. It conducts all school level exams. The GSEB conducts 02 (two) main examinations – The Secondary School Certificate exam for Standard 10 & the Higher Secondary Certificate exam for Standard 12 in Gujarat.
Gujarat Board also holds a Talent Search for students of Std VII & IX in five major subjects every year. Its main academic task is the preparation of syllabus for secondary schools and also the recommendation of text-books to be taught in government schools. It also recruits qualified aspirants in various government schools to maintain the quality of education. Recently, GSEB conducted the Main and Supplementary examination of SSC/ 10th class at 335 centres all over Gujarat in the month of March 2021. Approximately 7-8 lakhs students had participated in this examination to continue their further studies. Students who scored good marks in Class 10th Board Exam will be qualified to get admission in Commerce Stream, Science Stream, Arts Stream, Diploma, etc. depends on their choices to build a job career. The Board also plans another examination later in June or July for those candidates who failed to clear Gujarat SSC Examination 2021.
