As per report, total 67521 medical students have given Gujarat Common Entrance Test 2016 on Tuesday for admission to paramedical courses. About Gujarat Common Entrance Test: It is a state level medical entrance examination conducted by the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board every year. The exam is organized for those students who are looking to crack admission into engineering, physiotherapy, and alternative medical programmes. The medical courses like MBBS, BDS, Physiotherapy, Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Nursing, and Optometry are offered by various government/ government aided universities and private colleges/ institutes across Gujarat. In every academic year, it is conducted in between March to August month. Today, massive numbers of engineering and medical colleges are there in the Gujarat so due to competition the state government has started common entrance test. The education department has started conducting GCET since October 2007 as per rules and regulation of state government. Recently, the Supreme Court has ordered to conduct NEET (National Eligibility Entrance Test) Compulsory for all state. So, those candidates looking for admission into MBBS or BDS have to attend NEET examination. Please note that NEET-II will be held at the end of July month.

However on 10/05/2016 (Tuesday), GUJCET Examination is being conducted by the state education board to fill up seats in the Pharmacy, Ayurveda, and other paramedical courses. Total 68,359 students have applied their application but only 67,521 turned up for the examination. The exam was hosted for 180 minutes (03 hours) from 11:00 AM to 02:00 PM at various cities of the state. The question paper had total 120 multiple choice questions (MCQs) with 04 options. This entry level test had 03 sections such as Physics, Chemistry, and Biology of 40 marks each. The candidates will get a penalty of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. Most contestants who took the exam have said that physics section was slightly harder than the others. They further claimed that questions in physics section were twisted and not directly asked from the textbooks. This entrance test is easier than all India NEET examination. All the medical students are right now in a huge confusion due to orders of the Apex Court on May 09. So, Gujarat Common Entrance Test is now limited to paramedical courses only.

Like every academic year, GUJCET exam result will be declared after 20-25 days of the examination. Every contestant has to use their hall ticket number or seat number while accessing result from the authorized website. Those candidates who are shortlisted for counseling will find their names in the merit list. Students who score more than qualifying marks will able to attend the counseling session. We inform contestants that in counselling they need to submit all their documents and certificates whichever asked. The students will be allotted seat in a particular college only after verifying each and every certificate by the board members.
