Board of High School and Intermediate Education, Uttar Pradesh: It is abbreviated as BHSIEUP. It is a state government administered autonomous examining authority, established in 1921 by an act of United Provinces Legislative Council. In 1923, BHSIEUP had conducted its first examination. Every year, it conducts secondary school level examination and inter college level examination of the students studying in Uttar Pradesh state. The exam for 10th and 12th standard is known as High school examination and Intermediate examination respectively in the state. Both of these exams are organized annually and simultaneously around the state. BHSIEUP holds these exams in every academic year and approximately 32 million students attend it to promote themselves for higher studies. The head office of BHSIEUP is at Allahabad city. It has developed 04 (four) Regional Offices namely Meerut (1973), Varanasi (1978), Bareilly (1981) and Allahabad (1987) under the control of Regional Secretaries. It is the first board who had adopted and started 10+2 system of the examination within India. It also prescribes courses and test books for high school and Intermediate level.
