About Jharkhand Academic Council: It was constituted by HRD Department of State Government. It was formed under the Jharkhand state Legislature and Consented Act. It was established in 2000 with a purpose of providing best quality education to each and every student studying under the board. It also gives sophisticated facilities to those who want to proceed undergraduate courses. It also identifies the schools in the state and provides them affiliation. It is responsible for conducting examinations at the end of Intermediate, Education, Secondary Education, Sanskrit Education and Madrasa Education. This department’s main function is to manage secondary as well as the higher secondary courses. Board also updates the syllabus and textbooks time to time for the students. Every year it organizes annual examination by releasing exam routine and also announces the result. At present, its head office address is Gyandeep Campus, Bargawan, Namkum, Ranchi. For this year, the council has also released timetable and exam routine for both secondary and higher secondary examinations well in advance.

For the academic year 2015-16, the intermediate examinations have been held from 16th February to 07th March 2017 at various pre-allotted centers of the state. The council has successfully conducted 12th examination for the streams like science, commerce, and arts. Students of all three streams have attended class XII annual exam on the specified dates, time and venue mentioned in the admit card. In accordance with the official figure, more than three lakh candidates have appeared for this exam to continue their higher level studies.
