IB Security Assistant Eligibility Criteria 2025

Interested candidates must know the eligibility criteria, viz., age limit, essential qualifications, etc., required for the SA/ Executive Jobs in the Intelligence Bureau. MHA IB Security Assistant eligibility criteria are described under:-

Essential Qualifications

• 10th class pass (Matriculation) or its equivalent from a recognised Board of Education, and
• Possess a Domicile Certificate of that State against which the candidate has applied.
• Knowledge of any of the Local Languages/ mentioned in the table against each SIB.

Desirable Qualification

• Must have Field Experience in Intelligence work to apply for the IB Security Assistant (Executive) Job Vacancy.

Age Limit

• Above 18 years and below 27 years as on the last date of application form, i.e. 17th August 2025.

Age Relaxation

• The upper age limit is relaxable by 03 years for OBC & by 05 years for SC/ ST aspirants.
• The age limitation is relaxable up to the age of 40 years for SC/ ST, 38 years for OBC and up to 35 years for GEN in case of Widows, Divorced Women, & Women judicially separated from their husbands & not remarried.

MHA Intelligence Bureau Salary Structure cum Scale of Pay for SA/ Executive Posts is as follows:-

• Rs. 21700-69100/- (Level-3) in the pay matrix plus admissible Central Govt. allowances.
• Special Security Allowance @ 20% of basic pay in addition to other Govt. allowances.
• Cash Compensation in lieu of duty performed on holidays is subject to a ceiling of 30 days.

Intelligence Bureau SA Selection Process 2025

According to the selection procedure, the Intelligence Bureau Recruiting Authority will conduct the following exams for selection to Security Assistant/ Executive Vacancies:-

• Tier-I: Online Exam of Objective type (100 marks)
• Tier-II: Descriptive type Written Exam (50 marks)
• Tier-III: Interview/ Personality Test (50 marks)

Eligible candidates will be invited to appear for the Tier-I exam. Based on the performance in the Tier-I exam, aspirants would be shortlisted for Tier-II exam at 10 (ten) times the no. of vacancies, subject to the condition that the candidate should have scored a minimum cut-off in Tier-I. Candidates scoring at least 20 out of 50 in Tier-II will be shortlisted for Tier-III/ Interview, 05 times the number of vacancies, based on Tier-I performance. The final merit list will be prepared based on the combined performance in Tier-I and Tier-III exams.

Intelligence Bureau Security Assistant Exam Pattern 2025

We have shared the MHA IB Exam Pattern for the posts of Security Assistant (Executive) in the following tables so that candidates can get an idea about the examination structure:-

• Tier I will consist of Objective-type MCQs (Multiple Choice Questions), while Tier II will be a Descriptive-type Test.
• The Tier-I Online Exam will be divided into 05 parts containing 20 questions of 1 mark each.
• The Tier-II exam is qualifying in nature and will be an Offline Exam of a Descriptive type.
• There will be a negative marking of ¼ mark for each wrong answer in the Tier-I Exam.
• No marks would be awarded for an unattempted question in the Tier-I Exam.
• There is no negative marking in the Tier-II Exam for wrong answers.
• The time duration of the Tier-I & Tier-II exams will be 60 minutes (i.e. 01 hour) each.
• The Tier-I Exam Cut-off Marks (out of 100) would be 30 for UR/ EWS, 28 for OBC and 25 for SC/ ST Categories (all Ex-servicemen would be treated in their category, viz., UR/ OBC/ SC/ ST/ EWS).
• The qualifying marks in the Tier-II exam are 20 out of 50.
