Eligibility Criteria for Western Railway Apprentice 2023

AGE LIMIT (as on 27th June-22):-

1. Applicants should have above 15 years of age and below 24 years of age as on 27-06-2022.
2. SC/ ST/ OBC – Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 (five) years for SC/ ST applicants & 03 (three) years for OBC Applicants.
3. The upper age limit for Persons with Disability (PWD) is relaxed by 10 (ten) years.
4. Ex-servicemen – Upper age limit is relaxable upto an additional 10 (ten) years and further conditions apply.
5. The Eligible Date of Birth range for different categories shall be as under:-

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: Applying candidates should have already passed the following qualifications on the date of issue of notification, i.e. 26-05-2022:-

1. Educational Qualifications: Matriculation (SSC)/ 10th Class in 10+2 examination system with minimum 50% aggregate marks from recognized Board.
2. Technical Qualifications: ITI certificate affiliated with NCVT (National Council of Vocational Training)/ SCVT (State Council of Vocational Training) is compulsory in relevant trade.

RRC WR Apprentice Application Fee

About Application Fee: Applying contenders must check the following application fee category wise as shown here:-

1. Unreserved/ OBC/ EWS Category = Rs. 100/- (Rupees One Hundred Only)
2. SC/ ST/ Women and PWD Candidates = NO FEES
3. Applicants have to pay fees through the payment gateway integrated with the online application by using Debit Card, Credit Card, Internet Banking, etc.

RRC WR Apprentice 2023-24 Selection Process

1. Selection of eligible candidates for imparting training under the Apprentice Act, 1961 will be based on the merit list prepared as follows:-
   • Taking the average of percentage marks obtained by applicants in both 10th Std Examination and ITI Exam giving equal weight-age to both.
   • If two or more Applicants having the same marks, the Applicant with older age shall be preferred. In case Dates Of Birth are the same, then Applicant who had passed the 10th Exam earlier shall be considered first.
2. No written examination or viva-voce will be conducted by the Railway Recruitment Cell, WR.
3. The Final Selection of Applicants would be subject to verification of original testimonials and on being found physically fit in the Medical Fitness Certificate.

WR Indian Railways Apprentice Stipend & Training Period

About Training Period: All the selected applicants are required to undergo apprenticeship training for a period of 01 (One) Year.

About Stipend: Selected Candidates engaged as Apprentices will be paid stipend during their Apprenticeship training at the prescribed rates as per extant rules governed by the concerned State Governments.
