Eligibility Criteria for Western Railway Apprentice 2024

WR Apprentice Age Limit

• Applicants should be above 15 years of age and below 24 years of age as on 26-07-2023.
• SC/ ST/ OBC – The upper age limit is relaxable by 05 (five) years for SC/ ST applicants & 03 (three) years for OBC Applicants.
• The upper age limit for Persons with Disability (PWD) is relaxed by 10 (ten) years.
• Ex-servicemen – Upper age limit is relaxable upto an additional 10 (ten) years and further conditions apply.

WR Apprentice Qualification

• Educational Qualifications: Matriculation (SSC)/ 10th Class in 10+2 examination system with minimum 50% aggregate marks from recognized Board.
• Technical Qualifications: ITI certificate affiliated with NCVT (National Council of Vocational Training)/ SCVT (State Council of Vocational Training) is compulsory in relevant trade.
• Note: Applying candidates should have already passed the prescribed qualifications on the date of issue of notification, i.e. 21-06-2023.

RRC WR Apprentice 2024 Application Fee

Candidates applying for an Apprenticeship in Western Railway have to pay application fees online through the payment gateway integrated with the online application by using a Debit Card, Credit Card, Internet Banking, etc. The category-wise application fee payable is as shown:-

RRC WR Apprentice 2024 Selection Process

The Selection Process for RRC Western Railway Apprentices is explained briefly below:-

• Selection of eligible candidates for imparting training under the Apprentice Act, 1961 will be based on the merit list prepared as follows:-
  • Taking the average of percentage marks obtained by applicants in both the 10th Std Examination [with minimum 50% (aggregate) marks] and the ITI Exam gives equal weight-age to both.
  • If two or more Applicants have the same marks, the Applicant with older age shall be preferred. In case the Dates Of Birth are the same, then the Applicant who had passed the 10th Exam earlier shall be considered first.
• No written examination or viva voce will be conducted by the Railway Recruitment Cell, WR.
• The Final Selection of Applicants would be subject to verification of original testimonials and on being found physically fit in the Medical Fitness Certificate.

RRC WR Apprentice 2024 Stipend & Training Period

• About Training Period: All the selected applicants are required to undergo apprenticeship training for a period of 01 (One) Year.
• About Stipend: Selected Candidates engaged as Apprentices will be paid a stipend during their Apprenticeship training at the prescribed rates as per extant rules governed by the concerned State Governments.
